Dialogue with Confidence
by Lingua Franca Mentor Ayesha

Time: 11:30 am – 1:30 pm EDT

The pandemic has affected the basic need of human expression through contact, hasn’t it? It is time we build our confidence to synthesize and express ideas.

Join us in a hands-on topic-based discussion workshop where we aim to provide you with a friendly platform for public expression while allowing ESL students to talk and present their ideas with fluency and clarity to generate critical thinking.

The goal of this workshop is to allow ESL students to:

  • Develop logical arguments and idea presentation based on the topics and resources provided
  • Practice and experience synthesizing information and delivery skills in topic-based group discussions

Speak It Out:
Impromptu Speech Contest

Is English your second language? Do you identify yourself as a current/previous ESL speaker? Do you want to showcase your skills or challenge your public speaking skills? Join and be a contestant for either or both impromptu and oration speech contest. Impromptu speech is given with little preparation to answer a question or provide an opinion on a topic.
